Dominic’s Mom was explaining why she wouldn’t be voting for Obama: “He doesn’t like babies, and he wants to take Mommy & Daddy’s money.”

Dominic’s thoughts on the matter?  “I go bite him.”

Side Burned?

Since Cecilia sleeps on her back, her hair doesn’t grow as much on the back of her head as it does on the sides.  When Monica mentioned Cecilia’s sideburns to Clare, Clare said: “Well, Mommie, you really shouldn’t hold Cecilia when you’re cooking.”

New Italian Food?

Though we were eating American food at dinner, Clare said her stomach was too full of Italian food.  So someone asked her what Italian food she had eaten.  Her explanation?  “Gravy is Italian.”

Ok, I Feel Old!

Clare was asking how old Dominic & Cecilia will be when she’s 16.  After she learned how old they would be, I asked her how old I would be when she turned 16.  She said: “About 100, probably.”

Sittin’ on the Counter

Somehow Cecilia looks just a little bigger than the toaster….

Big Boy or Baby?

I asked Dominic a number of times: “Are you a big boy or a baby?”   Each time he would reply: “baby” (pronounced “bee-bee” by him).  It was so cute!

Favorite Movie

I asked Clare what her favorite movie was.  “Robin Hood,” she answered, “I crave that movie.”

Explain This Idiom, Please

After snorkeling, Aunt Brenda was tired, so she said to Clare: “I’m pooped.”

Clare looked surprisingly at her and said: “You did?!”

Baby Hog Time

To quote Clare: “I come from a long line of baby hogs”, so when Monica, Dan & Cecilia came for a recent visit, I got my “baby hog time” — Cecilia all to myself!  Knowing the baby hog family from which I come, this is a rarity.
