Dominic’s Suit

July 2, 2009

Dominic got a suit that he will wear for an upcoming wedding, and he was told to try it on.

Dominic: “Ok, I’ll try it on, but don’t tell me I look handsome.”

Clare (after Dominic was wearing the suit): “Oh, I can’t help myself. You look so handsome.”

She’s Good at Being Two

June 21, 2009

Clare: “Mommie, Cecilia (2) took my toy and she cackled evilly as she did it.”

And now the tooth that fell out of Clare’s mouth is missing. Guess who’s the prime suspect?

Ethan, are you a Democrat?

June 12, 2009

My Dad asked little Ethan if he was a Democrat.

Ethan’s response?  He started crying inconsolably.

I’ll take that as a “no”.

Clare was trick-or-treating and she commented to one of the adults:

“I just saw something REALLY scary…an Obama sign!”

Ring-bear

October 23, 2008

Clare & Dominic are going to be in their Uncle Tom’s wedding.  Dominic is going to be the ringbearer.  Clare asked: “What kind of ringbearer do you think he’s going to be?  Polar or grizzly?”

Stinky!

September 19, 2008

Dominic’s Mom was changing his diaper and she told him: “This is stinky.  You need to learn to use the potty.”

Dominic: “When I’m 11.”  Then he laughed.

Kindergarten

September 19, 2008

Clare has been expressing how grown up she feels, now that she has started kindergarten.  Here are some examples.

Clare: “I’m a kindergartener.  I’m practically all grown up, Mommie.”

Clare: “That’s really hard to do — even for a kindergartener.”

Clare was going on an amusement park ride and some other kids were trying to scare her.  One kid told her: “This is a scary ride; you might die.”

Clare’s response?  “I’m not scared.  I’m a kindergartener.”
